Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026

This policy applies to every free server. Breaching it may result in a server being stopped or deleted and an account being suspended, under section 4 of the Terms of Service.

1. Abuse of Shared Capacity

Free servers run on hardware shared with other players. These are prohibited because each one takes capacity directly from someone else:

  • Defeating idle sleep. Using AFK machines, bots, auto-reconnect scripts, or any other method whose purpose is keeping a server awake while nobody is actually playing.
  • Multiple accounts. Creating more than one account to obtain extra servers or capacity. One account per person.
  • Deliberate resource exhaustion. Chunk-loading machines, entity or item farms, or world generation built to consume as much CPU, memory or disk as possible rather than to play the game.
  • Automated waking. Scripting connections to start servers on a schedule, or to hold a queue position.
Ordinary play is never a breach of this section. A busy survival server with real players, a large base, or a working farm is exactly what the service is for. What is prohibited is consuming capacity when nobody is playing.

2. Prohibited Technical Activities

  • Cryptocurrency mining, distributed computing, or any workload that is not a Minecraft server.
  • Using a server as a proxy, VPN, tunnel, file host, or general-purpose storage.
  • Denial-of-service attacks, port scanning, or any unauthorised access attempt against any system, ours or anyone else's.
  • Attempting to escape the container your server runs in, to reach another tenant on the same machine, or to access our infrastructure.
  • Probing, load-testing or reverse-engineering the Service without written permission.

3. Prohibited Content & Conduct

  • Content that is illegal under Portuguese or EU law.
  • Child sexual abuse material, in any form. This is reported to the authorities without notice.
  • Malware, phishing, or content designed to deceive or harm players who connect.
  • Harassment, threats, or hate speech directed at any person or group.
  • Distributing pirated software, including Minecraft clients, server software, or paid mods and plugins.

You are responsible for what happens on your server, including the conduct of players you allow onto it. The whitelist is available on every server for this reason.

Offline mode (online-mode=false) is permitted, but it turns off username verification: anyone can connect under any name, including impersonating an operator. If you run your server this way, securing it — whitelisting, permissions, and moderating who joins — is entirely your responsibility, and impersonation or griefing that results from it is not something we can act on for you.

4. Game & Mojang Compliance

Your server must comply with the Minecraft End User Licence Agreement and Mojang’s commercial usage guidelines. In particular, you may not sell in-game advantages, and you may not charge for access in a way those guidelines prohibit.

Mods, plugins and packs you install must be licensed for your use. We provide server software; the responsibility for what you add to it is yours.

5. Enforcement

Where we can, we will contact you before acting. Where the breach is causing active harm to other users, to our infrastructure, or to a third party, we will act first and explain afterwards.

Serious breaches — particularly those in section 3 — result in immediate termination without notice and, where the law requires it, a report to the relevant authorities.

6. Reporting Abuse

To report a server or player breaching this policy, email [email protected] with the server address and a description of what you observed. Reports about content in section 3 are prioritised over everything else.
